Deodorant marks....

OK this is one I learned from my grandma. So you put your deodorant on then put on your shirt then look in the mirror and yuck white lines all the way down your shirt, I mean come on who hasn't done this. I do it all the time. This one is super easy. You don't even have to take your shirt off all you need to do is take some pantie hose and rub over the white lines and there ya go, completely gone :)

Can't sleep ....CRAFT!

So my mom gets here in two days. I am so excited to be able to spend time with her!! Unfortunately if I get excited I start over thinking about things that need to be done and I cant sleep. Soooo that brings me here...typing with paint covered fingers waiting on my first coat to dry.  Lucky for me my father in law is building a shed right now which means lots of spare pieces of wood. I grabbed a few little pieces the other day and decided to make a cheap cute Halloween decorative blocks. This is my first time making these so we will see how the turn out... crossing my fingers ! :) Hopefully there will be a tutorial to come :)

Nice white teeth for cheap!!!

I have never been able to afford to go get my teeth professionally whitened and spent a ridiculous amount of money on whitening strips. Now when I want to whiten my teeth I always use 5 minute plus white!! It works way better then any of the strips I have used. Not gonna lie it is kinda gross but its totally worth it. I just put it on my tooth brush like tooth paste brush it onto your teeth, not alot, just enough to cover them in the whitening gel. Leave it for 5 to 15 minutes depending on the stains then brush clean. It takes about a week if you do this every day to see a dramatic improvement but it is totally worth it. Also if you don't like the taste or texture of the stuff you can make your own little whitening tray at home!

At home whitening trays.. for under $5
Here's what you will need.

mold able mouth guard from walmart (sporting goods section) That's it!!

Once you get your mold able mouth guards following the instructions on the package. Basically what it will tell you to do is boil it in hot water until pliable then place it in your mouth and bite down until it hardens. There ya go a custom molded whitening tray for your 5 minute plus white :) easy peasy !! Enjoy!!

Dont want to polish your silver....

I am sure you have watched either our own mothers or grandmothers polish tarnished silver plates cups or rings. I know my grandma would do this for hours and some times it wouldn't even work. This is practically a no polishing way to get your silver sparkling again.

WARNING!!! Do not use on ant item that has precious stones or anything you want to keep looking antique!!! This seriously makes it look like its brand new.

What you will need.....
Glass baking dish or aluminum pie plate
aluminum foil
water softener powder
salt

Take your glass baking dish place a piece of your foil to cover the bottom of the dish
Fill with HOT water
Place 2 table spoons of the water softener and 2 table spoons of salt.
Stir to disolve.
Then simply just place your silver item into the water leave for 5 to 10 seconds and BAM beautiful looking silver with no polishing required.

P.s.
You can substitute the water softener
for baking soda it works almost as well.

White shirts that say DO NOT BLEACH.....

Well we just so happen to have quite a few of these white graphic tee's or dress shirts. Kids are kids and husbands are well husbands and some how some way they always get something on their shirt...I have to try to remove these types of stains all the time. So if your detergent can't get it out and you cant bleach it what do you do ?

What you will need.....
1 tube of Sensodyne whitening tooth paste (yes it has to be sensodyne tooth paste as in the white kind not gel)
1 tooth brush
some water and a little patience

I always wet the stain a little with water get a peas sized amount of the tooth paste and gently rub it into the stain. Then walk away for 10 to fifteen minutes. When you 15 minutes is up go back with your wet tooth brush and scrub until the stain is lifted in color quite a bit. Make sure you go with the fibers so up and down and then side to side Do not go in circles it can mess with the fabric. Then wash as normal. If its still kinda there repeat and you should be good! This has worked for me on new stains and ones that have already been washed and dried.  Try it and let me know what you think!

P.s.
Spill something on your
clothes while your out and about?
Hurry quick grab a baby wipe!
It takes almost anythings out of
 clothes. ;)

Good old chewing gum in the hair......

My daughter Laina (4) is cute as button but she can not live with out her chewing gum. So we have had gum stuck every where, the babys hair, her hair, my hair, the cats hair... and many other places. So what works to get it out? Peanut butter, tried it thats just messy and didnt work very well. Ice, eh, I have heard of this works but it didnt for us. So what did we try? Vegtable oil, it works like a charm! just saturate the gum with it and rub. the gum starts dissolving. if it isnt all out, rinse and repeat.

Cleaning tips and tricks of the week....

OK so if your like me my kids spill stuff on my carpet all the time no matter how hard I try to avoid it. This tip is for lighter colored carpets. I don't know if it would work on others since I don't have them. Right before my son was born she spilled a huge sippy cup of strawberry milk in the middle of the living room carpet. Ya, I tried everything to get it up nothing was working not even a steam cleaner it was still pink! So I started trying different things that I had heard about. You will never believe what worked!

What you need....
1 bottle of Windex antibacterial (the yellow one)
a few wash cloths you don't really care about
Old clothes iron
1 spray bottle
1 bowl filled with water

Fill your spray bottle with a mixture of 3/4 Windex and 1/4 water.
Spray your stain with your mixture until fully saturated
Dip one of your washcloths in your bowl of water and ring out so its damp but not dripping wet.
Fold your wash cloth in half and place it over the stain.
Take your iron set it to med heat .Then press it on top of the wash cloth with firm pressure for 7 seconds being very careful not to let your iron touch your carpet (you do not want melted carpet)
Then presto, your stubborn stain has transferred onto your wash cloth!
You may have to repeat once or twice a few times but it does work.

I have done this for all of the red or pink stains in my carpet it works like a dream. Just make sure you don't let the wash cloth dry out or hold the iron down longer than  7 seconds at a time.

P.s.
If you have other carpet stains
try ivory soap dampen the stain
with a little water rub the
ivory soap bar over the stain
a few times then rub with a
 wash cloth. Rinse thoroughly.
